Man dies in Anaga area after fall while practising salto del pastor

Emergency services say that a 55-year-old man died this afternoon while practising the salto del pastor, the famous Canarian Shepherd’s Leap, in the Barranco de Chamorga in the Anaga area. The accident happened shortly after 2pm and a helicopter was dispatched to rescue the man and transfer him to an ambulance waiting at TFN. Sadly, however, he succumbed to his injuries and paramedics were only able to confirm his death when the helicopter arrived at the airport.
