There are many whale and dolphin watching excursions available for holidaymakers and locals to enjoy, and there is already a blue flag scheme for environmentally friendly boats (see HERE), but now for the first time in the Canaries a cetacean-watching business – the Picarus Sailing Club, based in the Marina del Sur in Las Galletas – has won the maximum certification for the quality of its services, now officially recognized as unsurpassed in terms of environmental care, passenger safety, and all rules and controls followed to the letter.

Picarus Sailing Club’s management received the award yesterday from José Luis Mataix, the director Aenor, a country-wide association for quality standardization and certification service sectors, who made the presentation alongside Cabildo employment and economic development minister Efraín Medina. The Club’s website is HERE for anyone who would like more information about their quality service, or to book tickets.
