New procedures for British citizens abroad to apply for Emergency Travel Document

The Foreign Office has announced a change in the procedure for British citizens abroad to apply for an Emergency Travel Document. The new procedures will be in place from 7 November 2017, and British citizens who need an Emergency Travel Document will now have to apply and pay online HERE. The FCO asks the public to note that this is only for British citizens who are abroad, and that applicants should no longer apply to the British Consulate. Those who are not British Citizens but who have held another British Nationality passport are also advised to visit the link above for guidance on steps to take.
