In mid-November, a new unemployment office will open in Guía de Isora town centre, similar to the ones that already exist in Los Cristianos, Granadilla and Güímar. It will consist of a Servicio Canario de Empleo (SCE) and a Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (Inem), and will be located in the Municipal Employment offices.
The office will be able to carry out unemployment processes, administer unemployment benefits, provide job offers and training, personalized interviews, and related procedures and certifications. The sub-director, Juan Camejo, explained that the facility was primarily intended to unblock the log-jam which exists in the Los Cristianos office, which is currently used by residents from the Santiago del Teide and Guía de Isora municipalities.
It is expected that between 4,000 and 5,000 unemployed individuals will pass to the new Guía de Isora office from Los Cristianos. The SCE will have three staff, and INEM between two and five. Diario de Avisos
