Six people were rescued by bomberos this morning after a fire broke out in a residential block in Calle Pérez Reyes, Tacoronte. The blaze started shortly after 11am, and bomberos rescued a man from an apartment on the second of the building’s three floors and a woman from the apartment above. After extinguishing the fire and making the stairwell safe, they then escorted the other inhabitants out of the building.
The rescued man, aged 60, had suffered burns and was taken to HUC where his condition is said to be moderate rather than serious. The others assisted were helped on site for smoke inhalation but further medical intervention was thankfully unnecessary.
