Paraglider dies after falling into Adeje barranco

A 60-year-old French paraglider died this afternoon after falling in the Barranco del Colorado in Adeje. Emergency services say that they were called out around 6.15pm with reports of the accident in a remote area with difficult access. The control room dispatched a search and rescue helicopter whose crew located the stricken man, winched him aboard and, finding him in cardiac arrest, carried out resuscitation efforts while he was being flown to the Adeje helipad. Sadly,  despite their efforts being continued by ambulance crew after they had landed, the man could not be saved and he was confirmed to have died from the severe injuries he had sustained in his fall.
