Patients will have to pay full price for 417 medications from 1 September

The national Government has published in the BOE the list of medications that will no longer be subsidised for patients from 1 September. The medications are primarily for minor ailments like heartburn, skin irritation, diarrhoea, constipation, rhinitis, etc., and some will continue to be subsidised if prescribed to patients with certain serious or chronic conditions, but in the main, we will now have to pay the full cost at the chemist for them. Initially the measure, which was supposed to come into force at the beginning of this month, was going to cover 426 medications, but in the end, 417 are listed, though it is likely that the list will be revised periodically.  The full list is HERE.
