One PC City store in Tenerife to be saved under agreement with Portuguese group

Update 16 May: PC City España has signed an agreement with Portuguese group Sonae, owner of the electrical goods chain Worten, to transfer some of its stores to the outlet. Eight stores in all will be transferred throughout Spain, one of which will be in Tenerife. Although this still means job losses, at least one of the three Tenerife stores is to be saved, though it is not yet clear which one, and some 350 jobs will be saved in total throughout the country. Original post 14 April: PC City has announced that it is closing all its 34 shops in Spain with the loss of 1,224 jobs nationally. The chain says that the closures are the result of the fall in sales due to the economic crisis. As far as I’m aware there are three branches in Tenerife: in Las Chafiras, La Orotava, and Santa Cruz. The company stressed that the closure will not affect any guarantees issued in Spain to customers, and that it was committed to all post-sales service committments.  LO
