A police operation concerned with the sale of fake prestige label goods that has been running in Playa de las Américas over the last ten days has now concluded. It was mounted by the Organized Crime Group of the Policía Judicial’s Brigada Local from south Tenerife Comisaría, in collaboration with agents of Group III of the Police Intervention Unit, and focused on four locales in the Parque Santiago III commercial centre. Six Moroccans have been arrested and around 1,000 products have been seized.
In a press release, the Jefatura Superior de Policía de Canarias explained that the establishments were all leather goods premises, all selling fake goods with high-end labels like Prada, Luis Vuitton, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Gucci, Versace, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabana. The prices these goods, mainly handbags, were being sold for ranged between 40 and 80 Euros, a cost far lower than that for which the genuine articles sell. PV
