Please will you help me in this voting research project?

***This survey has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part, either here, or by email, or on Facebook. Please do not continue to send your answers.***

For a research project that I am working on personally, I would like to ask people to provide general, non-specific, and completely anonymised information about the voting patterns abroad. As you’ll know, British nationals registered to vote in the UK retain their right to vote, providing they remain registered with their previous constituency, for up to 15 years after leaving the UK. What I’m trying to compile statistics on is how their pattern of voting in the UK is reflected in any votes they might cast when abroad, given that we can’t vote in national elections here anyway.

If you will take part, please either post in the box below or by email to janetanscombe@gmail.com … it’s a straight yes/no for the first 3 questions

So …

  1. Did you used to vote in the UK’s national and/or local elections?
  2. Do you now vote in the local elections in Spain? (to keep it simple let’s forget Brexit and the EU elections).
  3. If the answer is yes, do you vote for the same party here?
  4. What is the reason you do or do not vote for the same party here as you did in the UK?
