National Police have arrested a 32-year-old man in Puerto de la Cruz after finding he was in possession of over a kilo of ecstasy in 217 tablets, 21 grams of cocaine and 16 grams of a synthetic designer drug called tucibi, a “pink cocaine” called an “elite drug” because of its cost. Police say that the arrest took place as part of an anti-drugs campaign carried out by a unit set up for the purpose. The detainee has been imputed (named as a formal suspect) for public health offences and is remanded in custody while his case is being processed through the Courts.
