Updated 17 November: It’s not certain it’s the same gang, but police are now looking for three hooded assailants who committed armed store robberies in south Tenerife on Thursday in a similar fashion to that carried out in the La Esperanza Hiperdino last Saturday. In this latest rush of robberies, three on the same day, the first was carried out in a 24-hour supermarket in Avda Europa near the waterpark; this was followed by another in the Five Oceans shop in Guía de Isora, and then by another in a Buzanada supermarket. Police say that although in the La Esperanza robbery the car used was a blue Renault, thought to have been stolen and recently discovered burnt out, on this occasion a white Dacia was used, again presumed to have been stolen.

Original post 12 November: Police are asking for help to find the three hooded assailants who held up a Hiperdino in La Esperanza around 8pm on Saturday evening. The Guardia Civil says that the thieves appeared to fire the gun they were carrying into the air and no-one was hurt, indeed it is not known if it was a real gun or a replica, but one employee needed to be treated for shock after the incident. The attackers, shown in the security camera still above, fled the scene in a blue Renaut 5 and sped up the TF24. Anyone with any information should call the Guardia Civil on 062.
