Police to patrol El Médano beaches to ensure dog owners obey the law

The Policía Local are patrolling the beaches at El Médano to enforce the regulation that bans dogs from the beach. The move comes after complaints from residents and users, so many complaints, indeed, that the Ayuntamiento has raised the fines for any owners who allow their dogs to foul the beach or public areas.

Throughout the summer, the Policía local will be patrolling the coastline to ensure the rules are observed, and to fine anyone seen breaking them.

Locals are divided on the matter: pet owners naturally want an area of the beach which they and their dogs can enjoy. Others, however, argue that the dogs contaminate the beaches and that they are often not controlled by their owners. PV
