Public invited to take part in Santiago del Teide coastal clean-up

Phtoto: Santiago del Teide Ayuntamiento.

Santiago del Teide Ayuntamiento has announced that a coastline clean-up has been organized for Sunday, 11 June. The works are volunteer based, and on this occasion are taking place within the framework of World Oceans Day. Diving centres are collaborating with the council, Bomberos Voluntarios, Protección Civil, Asociación de Empresarios y Comerciantes de Santiago del Teide (ASEMTEIDE) and various local associations and businesses, and will start at 10am.

Locals are invited to join in to help clean up their coastline, and those who would like to take part should turn up at the main Puerto de Santiago square at 10am on the 11th. After the work has finished there will be a deserved lunch laid on for all who participated, as well as different activities, games and talks in Playa Chica.

All local councils do this from time to time. Those in other areas should just ask at their local ayuntamiento for details of their campaña de limpieza de litoral.
