The rector of the University of La Laguna and the mayor of Adeje have presented the Adeje Summer University programme this week, which also marks 25 years of the university in the borough and 225 years since the foundation of ULL. This summer there will be 6 courses and 14 workshops on offer from 17-21 July.
Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga said that over those 25 years the courses had changed and adapted to the needs of students, and the summer university had survived the economic crisis that had affected many cultural and social programmes in the islands. Two years ago the organisers had adopted a new format, with shorter courses on three mornings in the week complemented by workshops in the afternoons and evenings, allowing them double the offer and see the number of students attending increase from 200 to 400 attending courses in the week in question, according to the ULL vice rector, Francisco García.
The prices for attending courses have also been modified, and today a course will cost students about €25 and a workshop is €10. Registration for courses opens today, and there is full information HERE of what is available.
