Santa Cruz man’s body found at Las Teresitas beach this lunchtme

Police say that a 66-year-old Santa Cruz man has died this lunchtime at playa de Las Teresitas in Tenerife’s capital. The body will now be approved for removal to the forensic institute for an autopsy to be carried out to confirm that the poor man drowned. Until that point, there is no way of knowing the specific cause of death but cold water shock is a major issue here, with the waters always technically “cold” (ie under 25º) even in the height of summer. As Autumn continues and winter approaches, the matter becomes more concerning, so please see HERE for official advice on staying safe in all respects in the waters here.
