Updated 16 April: I’m delighted that the organizers of this emergency paediatric first aid course in San Blas have got back in touch with me to say:
we have been (pleasantly) overwhelmed by the continued level of interest and enthusiasm for learning first aid. There are too many participants to name individually! But what we want to say to you all is: thank you. Your participation means that no matter where you are e.g. at home, work or within the community; you can help someone in need of first aid.
Where next? We will keep you posted! If you’re a community group or venue and interested in arranging a session, please get in touch.
There is more information about the courses and how to arrange them HERE.
Updated 7 April: Just a reminder about this course which is being held next Saturday. Organizer Chris Simmons says that there are still five places left so if anyone wants to sign up, this is a last chance to do so.
Original post 12 March: A Level 3 Award Emergency Paediatric First Aid course will be held on Saturday 14 April at The San Blas Centre in Golf Del Sur. The company that is offering it is Tineke Training, an established, British-based Company specialising in the delivery of Ofqual-regulated (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), Health & Safety Executive compliant, internationally-recognised and accepted First Aid and Health & Safety Training qualifications.
All instructors and trainers are certified First Aid Instructors and Assessors, hold the IOSH qualification and have either a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education or City & Guilds Further Education Teaching certificate. The company says that over the years, thousands of individuals have been taught how to help save lives, deal with major and minor first aid situations, and handle/prevent health and safety in the workplace situations, ensuring participants walk away with the knowledge and confidence to administer swift, effective first aid or handle any safety issue they might be faced with both inside and out of work/ within the community.
The sessions are highly interactive thus encouraging communication and team-working, with a mix of practical, theoretical and audio-visual methods to maximise learning and enhance the learners’ skills in an informative yet enjoyable way. There is more information on their website HERE about the company and the training it provides throughout the world. The details for the course in San Blas are on the poster.
