The Tenerife Cabildo has announced a series of concerts over the next three Friday nights as part of the Festival Musalusa dedicated to Portuguese culture.
Tomorrow’s – Friday 16 September – will feature Luiz Caracol, offering a mix of Portuguese and African rhythms, and on Friday 23rd, Canarian singer Olga Cerpa will perform with her group Mestisay – the group has serious influences from and close connections with Portuguese music, their last album being Estación Lisboa. Finally, on Friday 30 September, Riot will bring the festival to an end with what’s billed as an exotic fusion of rock and electronic music with roots in the streets of Angola and flowering in Lisbon to create something really fresh and new.
Africa meets Portugal meets the Canaries! The concerts are free, and will be held at 9.30pm in the Las Palmeras patio of the Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre, which has been turned into a summer beach environment with some 60 tons of white sand.
