Small cluster of low magnitude tremors under Teide this morning are no cause for concern

The Instituto Volcanológico de Canarias has today recorded a mini-cluster of tremors beginning at 11am this morning and lasting for just a few minutes. In this short space of time some 7 tremors were recorded, with very low magnitudes of between 1.1 and 1.3, and in the same area of a cluster earlier this month bewteen 7 and 14 kilometres below the peak of Teide. It all follows a tremor in the same place in January which was within normal parameters, and Involcan says they are typical of such volcanoes and related to the internal hydrothermal system. As such, volanologists say that it does not signal any reason for concern.
