St Patrick’s fundraising dinner

Adeje Ayuntamiento has announced the annual St Patrick’s Gala Dinner which this year will be held on 13 March in the Golf Costa Adeje. The dinner is also a fundraiser for the Adeje-based Asociación San Juan which helps people with special needs, and last year over €1000 was raised for the asociación, a sum that organizers hope to match this year.

This year’s host for the evening is the Honorary Irish Consul to Tenerife, Álvaro de la Bárcena Argany, and members of the Adeje Town Hall will also be present. And of course you don’t have to be born Irish to take part – isn’t everyone a little bit Irish in the days leading up to 17 March, St Patrick’s day!

As in previous years, the evening includes a glass of Cava on arrival, a sumptuous three course meal and coffee and cake (always with a special Irish touch), not to mention excellent wines throughout the meal, all for €40. Last year the organisers also held a raffle with money raised going to the local centre for individuals with special needs, the Asociación San Juan. This year the raffle will be bigger and better, with one of the top prizes on offer, courtesy of the Fundacion CLC World, being a voucher for 7 nights’ accommodation in one of their resorts in Tenerife, Malaga or Turkey.

And of course the evening wouldn’t be complete without some live music and dancing, with Irish musicians travelling from home as well as some based here playing tunes to keep you on your toes. The group travelling from Ireland will also be giving a few private concerts around the island, including in the San Juan centre, during the week leading up to 17 March.

If you would like tickets to this terrific event please contact Noelle Corridan, 633 39 98 27 (afternoons) or Denise Quigley in the Honorary Consulate of Ireland, 922 245 671 between 10am and 1pm, Mon-Fri. This is a seated event so tickets are limited, so book soon to avoid disappointment.
