The Tenerife Cabildo has announced an investment of €724,000 to improve the water supply in the Granadilla de Abona municipality. The works will include renovations to several municipal water tanks and pipework, as well as the tertiary network for domestic supplies to individual dwellings, and are part of the Insular Plan for Municipal Works and Services 2014-2017.
Cabildo councillor for municipal liaison Aurelio Abreu explained that the project has just received its approval from the Canarian Government, and that works scheduled to last some eight months will start between October and December this year. Abreu said that they would solve the main water supply infrastructure problems in the municipality, something demanded for some time by both Granadilla Ayuntamiento and local residents.
Once repair works and improvements have been completed, works will move on to the restoration of pavements and gutters affected by the works, which are designated to take place primarily in Charco del Pino (Calle La Finca), El Salto (Calle Los Tomillos); El Desierto (La Oliva), Cruz de Tea (calle El Faro), and San Isidro (calle Archipiélago).
