Tenerife Cabildo asks people to stay away from mountains as part of fire-risk controls

The Cabildo has prohibited any fire-making activities in the forest areas of Tenerife due to continuing forecasted temperatures in excess of 30º. No burning of agricultural rubble will be allowed, nor fireworks, nor BBQs in the recreational areas, which are now being sealed off in the forest corona, Anaga and Teno.

The Cabildo says that the measures will remain in place until weather conditions improve from the point of view of fire risk. It stressed its request to everyone to do all in their power to minimise the chances of starting a fire accidentally, and to avoid going up into the mountains unnecessarily during this period.  El Dia
