Tenerife’s carnival now has its own museum. The new Casa del Carnaval will be the official home of costumes, information, and anything to do with carnaval culture. The new museum is in the barranco de Santos in Santa Cruz and was inaugurated this past week by the Canarian President Fernando Clavijo and Santa Cruz Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez. The local Ayuntamiento is the principal organizer of the annual fiesta, now globally acknowledged as the second biggest carnival in the world after the famous one in Rio de Janiero. The museum has a website HERE packed with information and images, and as a new museum, entry is free over the summer.
