A fire around 6am this morning on the TF5 at Barranco de La Negra, El Sauzal, looked very bad to those driving through it. Thankfully, however, it looked a lot worse than it was, and although a significant amount of vegetation was burnt in a finca adjoining the motorway, the damage was minimised and the most noticeable effect was the considerable tailbacks that formed for traffic heading towards Santa Cruz. The fire has now been declared under control, with the above image showing fire crews just damping down, but at 6am when still dark, the images of bright flames against the darkness were very dramatic!
