It would be nice if people would stop driving into harbours! Recently, two vehicles ended up in the water of the Dársena Pesquera (fishing bay) in Santa Cruz, one driven by a lone man and the other by a woman with her 12-year-old daughter in the car. Thankfully neither resulted in injury, though police have said the incidents are the result of personal stress and mental health issues. But now there’s a third case with a vehicle ending up in the water off the breakwater in Puerto de la Cruz. Emergency services say that the 68-year-old driver has been taken to HUC with serious head injuries and the National Police are investigating.
