Tráfico warns of fake driving fine circulating by email

Tráfico has warned of a fake driving penalty notice that is circulating by email. The communication says that the recipient has been photographed speeding and a fine has been imposed. There is a link to click to find out the details. OK, many will say it’s obviously a fake, but this looks very realistic and the Guardia Civil is concerned that people will mistake it for the real thing. They say that such notifications are never sent in this way unless a driver has registered for Dirección Electrónica Vial, but even then they will not be asked to download details of the fine, but to log in with their registration details. This is what the email looks like (click to see full size).
