Tragic 24 hours for motorbike riders in north Tenerife

Two motorcyclists have died in north Tenerife in the last 24 hours. Yesterday morning emergency services were reporting a collision around 7.20am between a motorbike and a car on the TF5 near Guamasa, La Laguna: its 35-year-old rider was so badly injured that paramedics were unable to help him and he died at the scene. The 24-year-old driver of the car was transferred to a medical centre where she was treated for non-serious neck injuries and shock.

And now this morning, there has been another fatality in another motorbike-car accident in Paseo Las Araucarias, La Orotava. Emergency services say that a 34-year-old bike rider was killed minutes after 10am when his bike was involved in a collision with a car. Again, the rider was so badly injured that paramedics were unable to help him and he was declared dead at the scene. There is no information about the car driver.
