One dead, one injured, in TF5 petrol station accident

Updated 1pm: There is some sad clarity now about this early morning’s accident at the El Bohío petrol station on the TF5 near La Matanza with the news that the critically injured man was a petrol pump assistant who has now died in hospital. The accident happened because the younger man who had to be freed had felt unwell and lost control of the vehicle in which he became trapped, hurting his ankle. Police say tests show that no drink or drugs were involved in the tragic incident.

Original post 12 August: A 50-year-old man has been seriously injured after being run over in the El Bohío petrol station on the TF5 near La Matanza in north Tenerife. Emergency services say that they were called out around half past four this morning with reports of the accident, and that ambulance crew found the man with multiple injuries and transferred him to HUC University Hospital where his situation is said to be critical. Another man of 25 years of age received an ankle injury in the incident, though there are no details at present as to how it occurred other than bomberos had to cut one of the injured men out of a vehicle.

  1. this petrol station is a little dangerous , cars passing though by the pumps often do so at speed , whilkst cars are moving after being served and people getting out of their cars at the pumps, and i am talking about daytime activity, terrible torally unavoidable tragety
