Yellow alert for strong winds extended to whole island and to Wednesday

Update 12 June: And the yellow alert  for high winds and very rough seas has been extended to all parts of Tenerife for today and tomorrow.

Update 11 June: Aemet has extended the yellow alert for high winds at altitude in Tenerife; it is now in place until 9pm on Tuesday evening. Wild seas are also forecast from now until Wednesday morning so there will be some spectacular waves to see over the next couple of days.

Original post 9 June:  Aemet has raised a yellow alert for strong winds in the La Orotava and Vilaflor areas of Tenerife on Monday. It starts at midnight Sunday/Monday and ends at midnight Monday/Tuesday, with winds forecast to gust to 85km/h. The alert is also in place on the peaks of La Palma and Gran Canaria, and the whole of La Gomera and El Hierro.
