Teide national park access roads cut off by ice after snowfall during the night

snow covered Teide

Update 1 May: The three main roads leading up to the Teide National Park have been cut off by ice after snowfall during the night. The National Park is therefore effectively cut off to traffic. The three roads are the TF-21 up from La Orotava, and the same road up from Vilaflor, and the TF-24 from La Esperanza after Arafo. Snow machines are currently working to clear the roads. The Cabildo has reminded the public to check the roads on its website HERE or by phone to 900 210 131 before making any journey to the area.

The alerts last until midday Sunday for the rain and the end of Sunday for the winds.
