Young swimmer drowns at El Puertito, Adeje

Sadly, with the coastline now opened up, we have the first drowning for some time as a 21-year-old swimer died at El Puertito, near Armeñime in Adeje. Emergency services say that they were called out at 5.30pm with reports that the man had gone missing and that help was needed to locate him. The control room dispatched a lifeboat and Helimer helicopter, but it was another swimmer who found him and got him back to the coast where ambulance crew established that he was in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately their efforts to resuscitate him were to no avail and the young man was declared dead at the scene.
