Youth electrocuted in Güímar electricity transformer station

A 17-year-old is seriously ill after being electrocuted in calle La Morra in the San Pedro Abajo area of Güímar. Emergency services say that they were called out at 6pm last evening with several reports that the youngster had been in the pylon and had received a charge, then falling onto the roof of the electricity transformer station below.  When bomberos and ambuances arrived, bystanders had already got him to the ground and were trying to assist him, efforts which were taken up by ambulance crew who thankfully managed to resuscitate him from the heart attack he had suffered. He was then transferred to Candelaria hospital where his condition is said to serious.
