Updated 24 April: Guía de Isora mayor Pedro Martín has today officially opened the first two phases of the of the coastal path betwween Alcalá and Varadero, the part of the paseo known as Punta Blanca. Cabildo Vice President Aurelio Abreu Expósito was also at the opening, along with Guía de Isora Urbanism and Tourism Development Councillor José Mesa, Cabildo technicians, and representatives from the company which carried out the works.

Mayor Martín said that although there are three phases still underway, the first two are now open to the public for all to enjoy. The sound quality on the following video leaves something to be desired, but the images are clear. This is a really nice looking coastal path.

Original post 17 February: I’ve been asked a few times about the walkway between Alcalá’s Playa La Jaquita and Punta Blanca at the beginning of puerto Santiago, but now Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento has said that the ongoing works on the coastal path are entering a crucial final stage. To ensure they are completed correctly, the public is reminded that access to the area of the works is prohibited.

  1. They say it will take a couple of weeks. I am not so sure as the first 150 metres at the Alcala end had not been touched at all a week ago.

  2. Does anyone know how long the coastal footpath is going to closed please?

The council says that the works are entering the final stage, so it can’t be long now.
